About Bandon Trails

This is where Coore & Crenshaw perfected their minimalist philosophy, creating what many consider their masterpiece in the Oregon dunes. The routing flows effortlessly through massive sand hills and gorse-lined valleys, with each hole feeling completely natural despite the dramatic elevation changes. The architects moved remarkably little dirt, instead finding golf holes that seemed to already exist in the windswept landscape. You'll play shots from elevated tees into bowl-shaped greens 100 feet below, then climb to ridgetop putting surfaces that offer glimpses of the Pacific through the shore pines. What sets this apart from Bandon's other courses is the sheer variety of playing angles and the way the terrain dictates strategy rather than artificial hazards. The greens are generous but brilliantly contoured, rewarding precise approach shots while still accepting slightly wayward balls. Walking is mandatory here, which only enhances the experience as you traverse some of the most dramatic golf terrain in America. It's the course that locals play most often, and after one round through these dunes, you'll understand why many consider it the crown jewel of the entire Bandon resort.
